If you suffer with Hidradenitis Suppurativa, wet cupping therapy can make a huge difference to your symptoms. Hidradenitis Suppurativa, (HS), is a skin disease that is chronic and causes regular symptoms of infections and abscesses.
The actual cause of HS is not known but it results is the blockage of the glands found in the groins and armpits typically. It can also affect the glands found in the breasts, perineum and buttocks. The blockage of these glands results in chronic inflammation, pus-producing abscesses and eventually scarring of the skin.
Because the cause of HS is still not fully understood the treatment of HS is controlling the symptoms after they occur. Sufferers of Hidradenitis Suppurativa often take several courses of antibiotics a year. Despite these antibiotics, many sufferers of HS require regular surgery to drain the infections and relieve the painful inflammation that has occurred.
Hijama, (wet cupping therapy) has a different approach to treating HS. By cleaning and ‘selectively filtering’ the blood your circulation is left cleaner. The removal of blood through wet cupping removes the heaviest components of your blood. The removal of toxins and inflammatory cells markedly reduces the frequency of and severity of abscess formation.
We have treated a number of patients at the LCC with a great deal of success. Here you can read our case study of Mr M; a young man who suffered with recurrent abscesses on a monthly basis. After having wet cupping therapy he found his symptoms improved markedly.
Our experience tells us that Hidradenitis Suppurativa can be controlled and managed really well by having regular detox sessions. We would love to be able to say that one session will solve all your problems but unfortunately this is not the case. You are likely to need cupping every two months or so depending on how severe and frequent your flare-ups are.
After your first appointment your clinician will give you a treatment plan and advice as to how often you are likely to require cupping. As your treatment is likely to be long-term we advise patients suffering with HS to book our 1 year plan which gives 6 full treatment sessions over 1 year at a heavily discounted price.
