Haemorrhoids (Piles)

Wet cupping therapy for the treatment of piles (haemorrhoids) is an effective way of improving what can be very difficult symptoms to treat. Piles (or haemorrhoids) are swellings that can occur inside and around the back passage (anus) and the anal canal. The actual swellings are a result of engorged veins and the overlying tissue may then form into one or more small swellings called piles.

Commonly patients suffering with piles suffer with rectal bleeding, itching, a mucous discharge from the piles and the feeling of fullness even after passing a bowel motion. We commonly find patients who do not seem to have any improvement in their symptoms after using creams and ointments.

Hijama therapy targets the underlying cause of piles dealing with the circulation of blood directly and preventing the engorgement that occurs in haemorrhoids. The reason that these blood vessels can become ‘engorged’ in patients with piles is due to increased blood-flow in the circulation between the liver and the bowels. As the pressure in this area increases (the portal circulation) the veins become stretched and swell.

Doing Hijama at certain points to cleanse and detoxify the portal circulation can prevent and reverse the swollen veins and improve the symptoms of piles

Typically a patient will require Hijama every 2 months in combination with improving their nutrition to effectively deal with piles. Book an appointment now.
